As a kid, I grew up watching The Carol Burnett Show with my parents and my two sisters. One thing I really love about nowadays...tv series on DVD...and YouTube!

Every once in awhile, I see a commercial that totally cracks me up and I can't quit laughing. Well, I saw the following commercial awhile back and then found it on YouTube. Mr. T is so incredibly funny in this one and in the following one, which I found while looking for the first one.

What makes this so funny to me too is that M and N are both really into the Warcraft stuff. lol

Good News!

I called and talked to my mom last night and she said that after their trip to the ER Saturday night, Dad has been doing a lot better. They gave him a shot to help combat the nausea and she said he had a hard time staying awake after that.

Last night, she said he ate more for dinner than she's seen him eat in a long time, so that's a good sign! lol

He still has an appointment with an eye doctor today, so we're praying that goes well, but at least the "scare" is over.

Ok. Back up for a minute. I was surprised I got answers so fast on the Kaptain Kool thing. lol

Weimie, how did you miss THAT??? It was THE thing to watch on Saturday mornings...well besides the standard cartoon fare.

but my favorite was Electrowoman and Dynagirl!

After the show ended, my sister and I would run outside to re-enact that morning's episode. And, of course, using my kid logic, I HAD to be Electrowoman and she HAD to be Dynagirl. Why?

Because I was the blonde and she was the brunette.

lol

She would play along for awhile, but then get irritated with me and go back in the house. That's ok.

Electrowoman didn't need a sidekick anyway.

Rock Star: Supernova

Rock Star: Supernova premieres tonight. Is anyone watching it? I’m torn, to be honest. I was thoroughly hooked on Rock Star: INXS, but they were already established with their own sound and persona. Supernova is a new group that hasn’t even released a single yet. What are they going to base their decision on? I can imagine that this season will be a tough one for the contestants…I mean, what do they base their performances on? What’s the criteria? And what “voice” is the band looking for? At least with INXS, you knew who the contestants were up against…Michael Hutchence. Those were some big shoes to fill! And at least they already knew INXS’s sound.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. I have to set it up to record when I get home. (M, when can we get Tivo???) That will an exercise in patience alone. I record so infrequently because we’re still using a VCR and VHS tapes…I can never remember how to do a timed record.

Anyway, I was completely hooked on Rock Star: INXS. I don’t know why! I really started becoming addicted to it when there were about 7 contestants left: Marty Casey, JD Fortune, MiG Ayesa, Jordis Unga, Suzie McNeil, Ty Taylor, and Deanna Johnston. By the time it got down to the final four, I started getting teary when they were voted off.

From the first day I watched it, though, I was rooting for Marty. His voice is different and has quite a range. Plus he’s a hottie. That’s always a plus. lol M got somewhat hooked on the show too, but not to the same degree. He liked Marty the best too.

When it got down to the final two and Marty was one of them, I was on pins and needles to hear who won. When I heard them congratulate JD, I was like, “WHAT???” Once I regained my composure, I could see the reasoning. JD was a better fit. Marty already has his unique style and is very talented. He’s also already in a well established band with a following (Lovehammers) and they can continue to crank out great music in their own style. JD’s sound fits INXS better, although I would much rather watch Marty perform than JD. lol

But…I still haven’t bought the newest CD from the Lovehammers…although I really want to. It’s just that everywhere I look for it doesn’t have it. I guess I’ll have to resort to buying it online.

Anyway, I’m interested in seeing how all of this plays out this season. I’m also interested in hearing some of Supernova’s stuff. I always liked Motley Crue, Guns ‘n’ Roses, and Metallica…so it’ll be kind of cool to see what the mix sounds like.

So, if you watch it tonight, let me know what you think of it.

My favorite Jimmy Neutron character is…

That’s right! Carl is my favorite and I’ll tell you why. I can relate to Carl for the most part. He reminds me of myself when I was in school…only more exaggerated. I was a little bit wimpy in school and had a nervous stomach. If I got slightly worried about something, you can bet I would get a stomachache. In fact, I had an ulcer in 2^nd grade. How’s that for Carl-esque??? I wasn’t as round as him, but I was (and still am) very un-athletic. No coordination whatsoever. (Oh...and I get carsick too.)

M’s favorite character is Sheen. I have to admit that I like Sheen too. I think some of my favorite lines from the show are Sheen’s, in fact. I can understand why people like him. M is more like Sheen than the other characters. He’s more outgoing and overly-obsessed about Star Wars…the way Sheen is about Ultra Lord.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it (can’t imagine!), you don’t know what you’re missing! The same can be said for The Fairly Oddparents…another family fave!

Did anyone watch the season finale of House tonight? Oh my gosh! What an awesome episode! I figured out what was going on pretty early, but it was still incredible. That's all I'm going to say about the finale. I don't want to ruin it for you if you didn't see it. But I will say that Hugh Laurie's beautiful blue eyes were as startling as ever. Can't wait for the new season's episodes!!!

Well, I broke down and turned the air on tonight. We've made it this far without turning it on, but it was 84º in the house! It's very muggy out tonight too. Ugh. It's going to be hard to get to sleep.

Anyway, I have a new entry already typed up and ready to post tomorrow. I'm just going to make you wait a few more hours for it. Actually, I want to look it over once more before I put it on here.
